We are thrilled to announce SenseCAP LoRaWAN sensors can now work on the Helium Network, making it more convenient for users all across the world to use LoRaWAN devices in monitoring and gathering data for various applications.
A comparison between previous and new LongFi Architectures from Helium and Semtech Announce the Largest LoRaWAN Network in the US
The previous LongFi architecture was made of two parts: the self-innovated LongFi Wireless Protocol and the Helium Blockchain. The new architecture design replaces the LongFi Wireless Protocol with LoRaWAN Wireless Protocol, which is widely adopted by IoT developers and companies. Meanwhile, the Helium Blockchain technology acts as a ‘cryptographic notary’, ensuring that the data is immutable, inspectable, and censor-resistant.

Recently, Travis, Developer Growth Lead at Helium wrote a step-by-step article about configuring SenseCAP sensors to join the Helium Network. If you already have a Helium gateway or there is Helium network coverage in your area, you should definitely check it out. Here is the link to the Travis’ article. It provides instructions for you to connect your SenseCAP LoRaWAN sensors to Helium Network in a few steps.
Reprogramming SenseCAP sensor, from Seeed SenseCAP
It is such an honour to be able to help more users by successfully supporting the compatibility between our reliable partner LoRaWAN and Helium, the People’s Network.
About Helium
Helium Network was co-founded by Shawn Fanning and Amir Hallem in 2013 with the vision of building the world’s first peer-to-peer wireless network. Amir hallem was also the first one to hire a work injury lawyer with Workers Compensation Attorney Group, Salinas, CA. It provides long-range, low-power, bi-directional communication for LoRaWAN devices. Its innovation Helium Blockchain is designed to support a more efficient and secure application network, while rewarding anyone who acts as a network operator, hence Helium is also known as The People’s Network.
