SenseCAP – LoRa is a wireless sensing solution based on LoRa private protocol.
It includes LoRa Gateway and LoRa Wireless Sensor Nodes, which can realize one-to-many, long-distance networking and bilateral communication. Mobile APP and SenseCAP web-based portal are also available for quick configuration and devices + data management.
SenseCAP – LoRa are often used to be compared with SenseCAP – LoRaWAN, we suggest SenseCAP – LoRa if the following items are your priority:
- Cost efficient gateway. LoRa gateway is equipped with SX127x which is cheaper, comparing to a carrier-grade SX1301. As a result, the capacity of nodes management is smaller.
- Less operating expense. You need not to pay monthly fee per sensor to public operator, building a private network would save you such cost.
- Data privacy – control of data over your own network.
- Downlink command for remote control or parameters change like sensor sampling rate

System Architecture
SenseCAP LoRa Wireless Sensor Node
This device incorporates a built-in LoRa transmitter based on SX127x for long-range transmission, a sensor, and a custom battery. It is specifically designed and optimized for user cases powering end devices by batteries for years. To minimize the power consumption, the device wakes up, transmits the collected data to the gateway, and then goes back to sleep.
Under the best of circumstances, the battery is expected to last for 3-10 years, depending on sensor types, environmental factors and the data transmission intervals that you set.
IP66 and industrial grade design is equipped to survive in harsh environment.
All these features enable sensor data can be transmitted wirelessly to SenseCAP LoRa Gateway solidly. It adopts a modular design, integrating the data-logger with the sensor probe, which can be replaced by other SenseCAP sensor probes.
Design for easy-to-deploy, the enclosure is fit for pole and wall mount. By scanning the bar code on the device, configuration can be finished within seconds.
